Costume Contest

Cherry City Comic Con will be holding its Costume Contest on Saturday April 11th at 7pm in Columbia Hall. Contest sign-up sheets will be available at the information booth. Deadline to enter is 5pm on the day of the event. There are some rules and guidelines so please take a moment to go over them.

All entries will register under ONE of the following categories:

A. 12 and under

Novice: Participant has not won an award. Advanced: Participant has won an award.

B. 13 and over

Novice: Participant has not won an award. Advanced: Participant (an individual) or member (of a group) has won more than 2 awards.

C. Group

Novice: Participant (of a group) has not won an award. Advanced: Participant (or the sum of all members of a group) has won more than 3 awards.

Judges reserve the right to change entry category at their discretion.

The Cosplay Contest will be judged on craftsmanship, creativity, and accuracy.

Photos – Participants are encouraged to bring photos of their reference character. This is not mandatory but will affect your scores in accuracy, especially if you are cosplaying an obscure character.

All costumes and props worn for judging must be homemade. Purchased or rented costumes will not be allowed. Costumes should be of the “handmade” variety. Purchased items, accessories, or props that have been modified are allowed.

No live steel, no functioning or previously functioning projectile weapons, no nudity, no glitter or confetti, no pyrotechnics. Participants may enter both the individual and group Contest.
